Zunka is a delicious preparation of chickpea flour that is commonly considered as a semi-dry version of the traditional Maharashtrian pithala (thick curry of spiced chickpea flour). Ginger, green chillies, garlic, onions and coriander along with a tempering of common household spices gives this dish its delightful flavours. As zunka gets dry quite quickly, it tastes best when served hot right off the stove along with bhakris (coarse flatbread), a thecha (spicy paste-like condiment) and some buttermilk.
