Sesame Confectionery

Tilachya Vadya are chewy, sweet mini-cakes made of sesame seeds, jaggery, peanuts, dry coconut, cardamom powder and clarified butter. The peanuts and dry coconut are roasted and ground into a mixture before roasted sesame seeds are mixed in with some cardamom powder. This mixture is slowly cooked in a pan along with the jaggery and clarified butter, cut into smaller vadya (pieces) and then allowed to cool and solidify on a tall sided, greased plate.
