Solkadhi is a spiced kokum and coconut milk beverage that is hugely popular in Goan, Konkani and Malvani cuisine. This dark pink coloured beverage is served at room temperature or chilled. While solkadhi is popularly consumed as an appetizer, it is also known for its cooling, digestive and cleansing properties. The mildly sweet and sour Solkadhi can be flavoured with tempered mustard/cumin seeds, curry leaves, garlic cloves, asafoetida and some dried and deseeded Kashmiri red chillies, served with a fresh coriander garnish.
