Shrikhand is a traditional sweet preparation of hung curd, flavoured with cardamom powder and saffron strings. A Maharashtrian classic, this dessert is often served as a part of a thali meal (full-course meal on a platter). For a fruit-based shrikhand preparation, one must blend in the fruit pulp or puree of choice into the blended hung curd (mango shrikhand is a summer special). Shrikhand is often served with puris or rotis, but this creamy delight is also directly consumed with a spoon!
