शकुन उंडे / Shakun Unde

Sweet Lentil and Coconut Dumplings

Shakun Unde are made like Talaniche Modak except that the filling is made of split gram cooked and mashed with jaggery and coconut mixed with cardamom and poppy seeds. Portions of the filling are then covered with a skin made of rice flour and milk and fried. The Shakuni Unde can be served as a special festive dish, as a hearty dessert or even as a fulsome snack.
