Ratalycha Kis is a wholesome breakfast item, rich in complex carbohydrates that is prepared using sweet potato, grounded roasted peanuts, grated coconut, clarified butter and a range of spices and condiments. Tempered cumin seeds are sautéed with green chillies using a thick-bottomed pan and then grated sweet potatoes are added in. After cooking for a while, a sprinkle of salt and roasted peanut powder is gradually stirred into the mixture until it has a dry consistency. After cooking until well-done, grated fresh coconut and finely-chopped fresh coriander are used as garnish and the dish is served with a slice of lemon.
