Ratalyachi Chutney is a mildly-spiced paste of sweet potatoes and fresh coconut. The sweet potatoes are grated and sautéed with black gram, Bengal gram, red chillies and curry leaves. The sautéed mixture is then blended into a smooth paste along with some freshly grated coconut, tamarind, salt and water. The chutney is then seasoned with a tempering of mustard seeds, black gram and curry leaves.
