Rice Seasoned with Tempered Spices

Phodnicha Bhat is a Maharashtrian style dry preparation of rice, sautéed onions and a seasoning of tempered spices and condiments. Leftover rice is often used to prepare Phodnicha Bhat, therefore making it a very thoughtful recipe that can be quickly prepared and easily transported. This dish is further perked up with tempered mustard and cumin seeds, green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice and a pinch of sugar (optional).
