Deep-Fried Flatbread Snacks Soaked in Sugar Syrup

Pakatlya Purya are traditional Maharashtrian layered, sweet and crispy snacks. Layers of flattened semolina-based dough are lathered with a mixture of clarified butter and corn flour, deep-fried on a low flame and then dropped into a hot sugar syrup. Pakatlya Purya remains crisp and delicious for about 4-5 days.
