Gooseberry Sweet Pickle

Moravala is a sweet preserve of gooseberries that is made by soaking the berries in a sugar/jaggery syrup for two days and then flavouring the syrup with cardamom and saffron and allowing the berries to simmer in it for a little while. Moravala can be stored in a sterilized glass jar for more than a year.
