Methicha Pithala is a classic Maharashtrian side dish made of fenugreek leaves, Bengal gram flour, onions, garlic, green chillies and some common spices and condiments. This traditional preparation is part of the staple diet of many Maharashtrians. A thicker pithala goes well with steamed rice while a runnier version of the same dish complements coarse Indian flatbreads.
