Kolache Pohe is a simple flattened rice dish that has a delightfully rich flavour composition: it is sweet, sour, nutty and spicy at the same time. Water-soaked flattened rice forms the body of the dish, which is stirred into a spiced mixture of coconut milk, tamarind pulp, jaggery water, green chilli paste and some salt. The coconut milk mixture has been seasoned with a tempering of spices such as cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and red chillies. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
