Khawyachi Poli are dessert flatbreads made with refined flour and stuffed with a mixture of sweetened milk solids and mild spices. Cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and castor sugar is gradually mixed into roasted khawa (milk solids). The dough is prepared using refined flour, some water and a little oil. Finally, the flatbread sweets are prepared by roasting bits of flattened dough stuffed with the sweet mixture on a pan coated with clarified butter. The poli is often one of the sweets made and served for festive meals.
