Kairichi Dal is a dry mash preparation of raw mangoes, split Bengal gram, fresh coconut and some common kitchen spices and condiments. The key ingredients are ground, grated and sautéed in oil along with mustard seeds, asafoetida and green chillies. Season with salt and garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut. Kairichi Dal is usually served with a raita and a variety of flatbreads and curries.
