Hulgyache Mandage is a soupy preparation of horse gram flour, with a little rice and a tempering of common spices and condiments. The soup is flavoured with asafoetida, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, green chillies and curry leaves, as well as a little salt and jaggery. This healthy and delicious soup is all the more enjoyable when consumed during the monsoon and winter months.
