Dahi Wade is a lentil and yoghurt based snack that allows for a lot of minor variations in the recipe based on one’s tastes and preferences. Soaked black gram is ground to a paste and beat into a thick batter using water, salt and baking powder. The batter is rolled into balls and deep fried until golden brown. Sugar and salt are stirred into strained cold yoghurt and poured over the wade that are placed in a bowl. Chat masala powder (tangy-spicy ground spice mix), red chilli powder, cumin powder are sprinkled on top along with two dollops of tamarind chutney and green chutney.
