Chitranna is a traditional South Indian rice preparation flavoured with lemon juice and a seasoning of some common kitchen spices. This dish is perked up with chopped onions, grated coconut, raw peanuts, split black lentils and split Bengal gram. The ingredients are sautéed in oil using a deep non-stick pan and once well-cooked, some chopped coriander leaves are stirred into the Chitranna before it is served hot.
