भज्याची आमटी / Bhajjyanchi Aamti

Chickpea Flour Balls in Spicy Curry

Bhajjyanchi Aamti is a traditional preparation of chickpea flour balls cooked in a spicy curry made with ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, fresh coconut, chopped onions, kanda lasun (onion-garlic) masala and a range of other common spices and condiments. The aamti is cooked on a medium flame until the goles (chickpea flour balls) are soft and well-done on the inside. Bhajjyanchi Aamti is commonly paired with bhakris (coarse flatbreads), chapatis (unleavened flatbreads) or even steamed rice.
