Avlyache Lonche is a delicious pickle made using gooseberries, mustard oil, some common kitchen seeds (mustard, cumin, fenugreek, coriander), salt and red chilli powder. Sliced gooseberries are fried in mustard oil until they turn soft and golden-brown, before it is mixed with the coarsely blended pickle masala made using the other ingredients. The pickle is kept in a tall, sealed and sterilized glass bottle for 2-3 days before it can be stored in the refrigerator for 6-7 months.
