Aavlayche Sarbat is a sweetened beverage made from an Indian Gooseberry concoction/syrup that tastes best when served chilled. Indian Gooseberries are a rich source of Vitamin C and are considered a superfood and a necessary addition to a healthy diet. Here is a tasteful way of having then regularly. The syrup is made by slowly cooking a blended paste of Indian Gooseberries and a little ginger in a thickened sugar syrup, along with a dash of lemon juice. The concoction is stored in a bottle and can be refrigerated for at least 5-6 months. Mix small quantities of this syrup with chilled water, flavour with powdered cumin, black pepper and black salt and finally serve the refreshing Aavlayche Sarbat with ice cubes.
