As in cuisines across the country, in Maharashtra too, it is often said that for every preparation, the style, approach, ingredients and final consumption patterns all ‘change every fifty kilometers’. Hence it is always interesting to know where a particular dish originated. In order to add another dimension to this knowledge base, we thought we should specify wherever we knew, the place from which the particular preparation has its roots in. We hope that as more users will update us on some origins that we have not been able to find, this part of this Section will continue to grow and become even more interesting and useful.
